As a Canadian with Ukrainian heritage, the events of the past two weeks have left me reeling. War is the destroyer of lives, families, communities, cities, nations. It is a cruel, senseless, implacable-feeling force that leaves us, as humans, feeling small and helpless.
It's times like these when it's most important to remember that we are not helpless. For every grand injustice we are powerless to stop, there are a thousand small opportunities to fight for justice that is within our grasp.
This week, The Story Engine is running a fundraiser for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and Syria through Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières.
From March 14 until midnight on March 21, 100% of sales of PDFs will be donated to Doctors Without Borders' relief work in Ukraine and Syria (split evenly between programs in the two regions).
This fundraiser includes The Story Engine Deck PDF, the digital expansion bundle, and the digital "everything" bundle, as well as the PDF ebook of The Story Engine micro-fiction anthology.
We are also encouraging direct donations to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. You can learn more about the non-profit's work in Syria here and in Ukraine here.
